Brewed by Ryan Bauer at our Minden location; our Dortmunder is a German-style, light-bodied lager but a little more body than a traditional helles lager. Historically brewed in Dortmund, Germany.

Welcome back to yet another review in the ever expanding series of beers none as "I just added this beer to this Next Glass owned website." Respect to Next Glass.
Dortmunder pours bright golden, good clarity, thin white head. Good appearance but for the lack of head/retention. Aroma of lager yeast and plenty of grain.
Taste wise it displays a bright barley pilsner malt character but hitting a notch harder than a pilsner. Pilsner ice if you will. Maintains the crisp and snappy mouthfeel of a pilsner without resorting to carbonation pumped up Co2 tricks. Was a nice beer on an unseasonably warm fall day back in late 2024. If you like your lagers halfway between a pilsner and a helles, this one sits firmly on the fence. Saaz like hops don't pop on this one like some pilsners, this is a smoother, slightly fuller ride into the sunset. The slightest amount of honey like sweetness to it. Fitting. The older I get the more into this style I proceed.
