Just discovered Five Points Bottle Shop in Athens -- a big improvement over my local Ingles in Toccoa!
Picked this one up. It pours a cloudy bronze with a very thick head. A sweet, hoppy smell. Nice, cool taste with a little hoppy bite. Not bad!

Pours a hazed, particulate heavy medium amber producing 2.5 fingers of billowy, somewhat lasting, beige, frothy head that recedes to a thick cap & collar leaving wisps & rings of lace. Aroma is earthy floral, resinous pine & thin citrus hops with hints of caramel & pale malt. Taste is dough & biscuit, caramel sweet malt with notes of earth, floral/herbal, pine & citrus hops. Peppery throughout. Maybe a little candy apple. Sweet fronted it finishes more bitter than sweet rapidly becoming more bitter the deeper you go into the astringent aftertaste. Lots of pine resin in the late finish & aftertaste. There are cocoa-like & metallic hints that develop in the mid-sip. The cocoa is short lived but the metal lingers throughout. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation, juicy & tongue crawling, a minor but nice prickliness with a drawing & drying aftertaste. Tasty & good but it lacks complexity.

Old school, trending English style, copper penny ipa. Peppery, metallic flavor, not completely off-putting but not what I’d personally crave or return to. Old soul IPA drinker, that’s had enough of all the delicious hazy fruit bombs, maybe you like this one.
