This Brown Ale has been spruced to the max. More than 2 lbs of spruce tips were added to give the lightly sweet brown ale the piney-est of flavors. Also, there's no argument to be had. Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

Pours a murky brown with a finger of off-white head. Head retention is decent. Aroma is spruce and fir and nutty, caramely, earthy malts. Malts are round and smooth, and compliment the bitter spruce well. Flavor profile is spruce, fir, and herbal and resiny hops. Malts are toasty, earthy and nutty. Balance between the hops and malts is really well calculated and executed, with the spruce coming over the top to add a little additional zing. Mouth feel is a light crispness up front and then smooth afterwards. It has a middle-of-the-road, medium thickness. Overall, big spruce within a nicely balanced brown ale too.
