It pours quite clear with a good two fingers of dense, foamy head and is quite a good looking beer. The head lasts a while, and clings to the glass with tenacity.
The aroma is...lacking. It is pleasant enough, but the orange is barely detectable and the spice expected is equally tame. The aroma is good, but lacks intensity.
The flavor is, however, tight, well-defined, and restrained. Maybe too restrained? Typical saison overlaid mildly with orange and in the aftertaste there is a very slight spiciness and a bit of pepper. It is lively on the tongue and not as drying as expected. Decent bitterness.
It is a nice, pleasant beer. It's a good beer, but I wouldn't drive the hour plus to purchase it again with superior options available in most bottle shops. Worth a try, however.
