Called a "hazy pale ale," this looks on the surface like a "session NEIPA," something I've been seeing more and more of and a style that I've never found agreeable.
This pours a hazy yellow, light orange with minimal head formation, no lacing. Nose is lightly tropical, but like nearly all of the beers I've had from Iceland, regardless of style, there is a strong barley note in the nose. Taste has very light tropical hop flavors, but a much deeper roasted barley flavor along with a touch of spice. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side with sharp carbonation. Overall, this was a pretty surprising beer - to call it an APA or a session NEIPA isn't accurate to me, at least based on the flavor profile. As with many of non-macro Icelandic beers I've had, the flavor profile leans toward a Biere de Garde more than anything else.
