Based on the descriptions I wanted to like this beer so much more than I did. Hazy gold, thin head that falls quicker than it should. Sharp grassy hops that really overwhelm the rest of the beer. Really wanted to taste the locally sourced grain and brettanomyces keg conditioning. There was a general rustic graininess to it but the grassy bitterness really masked any complexity there may have been. Hops aren’t even really very complex or intriguing, just very grassy and roughly herbal. A more balanced and refined hopping strategy would have made this much more enjoyable to me. Not a bad beer, I just think there was a lot that went into this beer that is being overwhelmed. A rustic lager to be sure.
