This is for the double dry hopped version tapped 4/11 at big hops. pale golden in color, with a sticky head that left significant lacing all over the glass. nose is lychee, grapefruit pith, and underlying bready malty. a little tangerine comes through on the tongue. finishes dry and moderately bitter, though there is a touch of pale malt,

my first from ghost pixel, a side project of freetail, on tap at their southern location. its a neat ipa, surprisingly standard for what i thought these guys were all about, and what i mean by that is not that its safe or boring, but that its not all modern and dry hoppy and hazy and trying to follow a trend, its decidedly old school in that its bitter as can be in the finish, i mean its really bitter ipa, i think i was expecting some haze bro stuff, and i was pleasantly surprised to end up with this beer in my glass instead. golden and not perfectly clear but definitely not east coasty looking either, with a thing white foam on top. aroma and flavor of grapefruit pith, honey, and high alpha hops, some pine there too, a touch of sweet peach flesh or something too, but i didnt find the hops to be crazy unique or anything in here, and then this huge wash of bitterness rises up at the end and really grabs me, very california style, oily and slick in feel with a good body, but lasting and gripping bitterness all the way through it. good carbonation and obvious freshness too. a nice glass of ipa, not as inventive as i thought the ghost pixel stuff would all be, but i liked it very much.
