5.4% abv, 40 IBU's, and 233 calories per pint as listed on their beer menu. Its black body reveals only a thin glimmer of mahogany when held to the light, and it's topped by a thin, creamy head of light tan foam that holds well and leaves some very nice, thin rings of lace throughout the glass. The nose offers the minimal essence of dark roasted malts with a light touch of hops and some very minor alcohol but nothing else - as might be expected for the style! The body is medium/light and it's smooth across the palate due to its very fine, moderate carbonation. Caramel notes are evident in the flavor, which is a welcome change from the basic dry, roasty, and mildly acidic stouts often found. This one offers a bit more depth, yet it still finishes dry with some lingering dark malts and bitterness in the aftertaste. Quite enjoyable even after a pint or two; and in my opinion, one of their better beers!
