Arrived as a clouded copper beer topped with a fine layer of white bubbles that left decent lacing. The smell is light and faintly sweet in a malty way. The taste is correspondingly light and crisp and what I normally associate with many German beers. Some fruit seems to show up in the finish along with fairly crisp hop notes. There is a moderate amount of carbonation. Certainly drinkable, but there are other Altbiers I prefer.

This ale is an excellent mix of hops and malts. If your a hophead, go for Big Al or the APA, but if you want a smooth beer thats not too bitter, with a ton of flavor, look no further. This ale pours a copper color with only a small amount of head. The scent is also a blend of many malt flavors as well as some slight hops. The taste is the same. Immediately you taste multiple flavors through the pallate. Wheat and maybe some dark fruit or floral hops shine through. Excellent choice as you go down the line of taps at Founders.
