Handsome dark chestnut color with adequate foam in the Duvel nonic. Grainy aroma with a shiff of something burnt. Medium body with just a slight spritz. This is the darker kind of Brown Ale, rather austere and slightly scorched with a bitter finish. Plenty of roasted malt flavor with a hint of nuts. More than necessary bitter aftertaste considering there is really no hop flavor. From the 32 oz crowler can purchased at the brewery tap in Oceanside.
