This full-bodied porter is deep in color and has a rich flavor profile. In addition to the dark malts in this brew, 20% of the grain bill was made up of rye malt giving this porter a wonderful spicy malt complexity.

This is described as a Rye Porter, and it does combine the two styles in an interesting way. Pours a dark red-brown with plenty of foam in the Tripel Karmeliet tulip. Aroma is grainy and roasted malt. Sturdy malty body with plenty of spritz on the tongue. Just sweet enough but with a dry grainy finish. Rye character is quite robust and spicy but not overly bitter.
Overall this is quite richly flavored and complex. Worth trying just to taste the big rye flavor. Dark in every way but enlivened by the spicy taste and moderate dosing of hops. From the 32 oz crowler can filled at the brewery tap.
