Clouds Rest is a mountain in Yosemite National Park. This hazy IPA is light-bodied and bucks the trend with a firm bitterness. The pairing of Galaxy and Hallertau Blanc hops create aromas of papaya, guava, and white wine. The palate of Clouds Rest is earthy with a pleasant spice that lingers.

Appearance - Pours hazy and yellow-orange in color with an off-white, half finger width head. Sub-par retention results ina mostly barren surface with a thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. A handful of thin, broken lines and small spotting make up the lacing.
Smell - Tropical aroma, with hints of mango, papaya and guava and lesser citrus.
Taste - Follows the nose. Prominent mango, guava and papaya with a hint of grapefruit and pineapple. Touch of white wine fruitiness (apple, pear, lemon zest) develops mid-taste and strengthens in the finish. Aftertaste develops with and lingers a decent amount of grapefruit pith bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, bitey carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a mostly dry finish.
Overall - Pretty darn tasty and fairly unique hazy, though it reminds of some of New Glory's offerings; they've used the Hallertau Blanc hop in a couple of their hazy brews. Definitely one I'd buy and drink again.
