I got this beer from my boss, who lives in the Dutch village Vlijmen. This beer is brewed for Gall & Gall Eric Kok (a liquor shop) in Vlijmen by brewery de 3 horne in Kaatsheuvel. Poured into my Westvleteren glass. The beer pours a very deep-dark-red color, which is very special for a stout. There is a one-finger thick, light-brown head which disappears medium-fast into a bit messy, but long lasting lacing
Smell: fresh-sour fruits (like apple, surprising...), caramel, coffee, spices (clove?) and roasted malts.
Taste: Spicy hops, sweet-bitter roasted malts, alcohol, liquorish, burned coffee and some cigarette ash. Aftertaste is nicely bitter and dry, but also a bit too alcoholic.
Mouthfeel: thin bodied for the style, medium carbonation with very small bubbles.
Overall: Not good, not bad. An average stout, where the cigarette ash and alcohol flavors decide that I don't want to drink it again. But it was still fun to try...
