Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to a thin film with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vanilla, mild cocoa and coffee.Flavor is dark toasted malt, vanilla, coffee and a touch of cocoa; mild tartness in the finish masks the stout malt. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Starts out with an interesting tiramisu flavor of vanilla and coffee with a touch of chocolate malt. Unfortunately, the finish is tart with vague fruit character. This may be an off bottle, or else the coffee has overwhelmed the malt. Satisfactory, but not sweet and pastry leaning as expected. A bit to tart in the finish for me.
