On draft at Venn Brewing. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sudsy rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and toffee. Bold, roasted coffee taste with vanilla, chocolate and toffee.

750ml crowler can. No dating found, but listed as a seasonal, and currently on tap at the brewery (2/12/2021).
Black colored body. One finger of tan head. Leaves some small spots of lacing and an oily sheen on the glass.
Aroma is big with "waves" of coffee, cocoa, and the vanilla sweetness. Has a base of toffee malt.
Taste has the base toffee and molasses malts, on top of which pile the slightly bitter cocoa and coffee, which is balanced some by the sweet vanilla. Does not have a lingering after taste.
Medium mouth feel, with some fizziness. Okay carbonation.
I am getting the sense that the crowler experience is lacking in fullness when compared to a tap room draw, but the beer is still well made and well balanced. The coffee and cocoa bounce back and forth, at one point the coffee is more dominant and then the cocoa comes through as dominant. Not overly sweet but not chalky either.

Venn Lunarising. Stout with Coffee, Chocolate & Vanilla.
6.6 % ABV, 20 IBU. Venn Brewing, Minneapolis, MN.
Fullest blackness. Utter richness. Slim brown head.
In the nose: Boom, cocoa! Boom, coffee. And, ah, vanilla. Earthy, lush, sweet, divine. Wow. Quite nice.
In the mouth: It's all there, again. Delicious. In fact, even yum a dum, dum. Much malt, moderate bitterness, plenty of coffee, cocoa, and vanilla, altogether tasty. I enjoyed this one all the way through.
Coffee, chocolate, vanilla. Venn's take on a Breakfast Stout.
Malts: Maris Otter, Munich, Roasted Barley, Caramel 80, Chocolate
Hops: Warrior (United States)
Yeast: American Ale
And: Coffee, Chocolate, Vanilla, Lactose
Huh. If this is Venn's take on a "breakfast stout", then is this just a new name for their Breakfast Stout?
