16oz can. No dating information found.
Clear, deep gold colored body; a very beautiful presentation. One finger of dense white head, which later is a bubbly cap and high ring. Leaves behind perforated sheets of lacing.
Aroma is faint, which smells of orange, grapefruit, and a touch of pine.
Taste has a bitterness that grows a little, but far from a palate wrecker. Flavor is classic, with a syrupy hoppy expression of sweet pine, orange, and grapefruit. Aftertaste is a real nectar of blended hop excellence.
A leg above medium mouthfeel. Coats the mouth yet has a dry finish. Very good carbonation.
Very well done classic MidWest IPA. More caramel sweet than bitter pine resin, and the presentation in the glass is spot on.

16 oz can filled 3/12/24 into a Becker.
L: SRM 7 Pours clear medium light copper color with a thin off white head, VG steady carbonation bubbles, head recedes to frothy edge foam, medium loose random lacing with some bands.
S: Fruit rind, candied caramel malts, a lightly spicy hop note.
T: Lightly sweet caramel malts, citrus zest, light resin, a hint of plum, subtle peppery hops, a note of toasted cereal grains, becomes lightly sweet & sticky with light warming.
F: Lightly brisk medium to med-light bodied mouthfeel with a soft medium length lightly drying finish.
O: A beautiful IPA all together. Toasted grains and fruit zest along with lightly sweet caramel malts. Expertly balanced & brewed and is very refreshing. Venn has captured the essence, spirit, and taste of IPAs from 30-35 years ago. It is excellent in its style.

draught
Clear, medium orange and a touch of amber to the look. Moderate, malted caramel aroma, with a skosh of herbal/pine. Moderate bite, with a citrus peel and medium roasted malt, adds to fill out the taste.
