Appearance: Pours a clear, dark brown color with a strong light tan head. SRM of 20-21. (4.25)
Aroma: Stronger aromas of dark, brown bread, yeast, lots of cocoa and earthiness. (4.00)
Flavor: Strong flavors of brown bread, dark grains, mixes of caramel and cocoa. Earthy with a yeasty finish. Complex flavors. (4.25)
Feel: Medium body, strong carbonation, smooth. (4.00)
Compared to Bent Paddle False Hibernation 3/2024: Pours lighter, milder aromas. More brown bread, nuts, caramel. Less cocoa, chocolate, roastiness. Smoother.
Compared to KC Bier Co Dunkel 3/2024: Pours similar. Milder aromas. Less brown bread and toast. More earthy and nutty notes. Drier with less flavor. Winner: KC Bier Co
Overall: A "Mexican Dark Lager". Not exactly sure the style is falls under, but probably a Dunkel. Drinks to style. Clean, authentic flavors. Very smooth and complex. Very nicely done. (Rating: 4.17)
