I am in awe. Beautiful dark golden color. Not a huge amount of aroma but very pleasant subtle malt/hop presence. Very fresh. Taste is clean malt, bready with clean grassy hop bite. Nice medium bodied mouthfeel making it easy to drink. My bottle was marked at 6.2%. Wooly Pig does it right.

Great golden yellow body with a slight hazizness; excellent carbonation; thick, white head, dense and creamy and partially sculpted. Pleasant malt nose; cracker and bread crust. Well-balanced taste; bready with a deft touch of hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; softly dense and velvety in texture; creamy.

This is a fantastic festbier, balanced, well-rounded flavors with an amazing mouthfeel. This version had the ABV listed as 6.1% on the bottle.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at The brewery as part of a five sample flight. It poured a slightly hazy golden with thin white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced with sweet rye malt base and grain and slight bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Just faintly foggy pale amber with a moderate airy foam head of khaki hue dying to a persistent but translucent bubbly blanket.

An absolutely delicious but measured freshly toasted malt expression is contrasted by a surprising hop bite in the finish. It's kind of like Wheaties up front, with an herbal, grassy hint of allium in the cleanly dry swallow, exhaling maybe a touch of nixtamal, while the yeast adds a hint of pear. After my second bottle, I noticed that some of the herbal qualities seemed to contain mild aspects of hefe yeast, in addition to the pear--possibly clovey coriander or something--but very faint.

The medium-light body's fine carbonation is otherwise firm to the palate.

500 ml bottle poured into a snifter bottled on 10/01

A: Soapy fluffy white head sits atop a caramel copper body with great clarity.

S: Light spice smell a little orange and some sugars some deep malts a little breadiness.

T: Lots of toasted and breads malts a little sugary sweetness and some light lingering toast notes.

M: Very light and clean feels like it might be 5% alcohol.

O: The nose didn’t inspire me, but the taste is right there. A very well done Festbier.

Had from special fest keg at their Oktoberfest Creamy head, and lacing, medium bubbles. Spot on to true German style, lots of flavor so, well balanced, great mouth feel. It was made so the first and last are enjoyed. Carmel honey toast a hint of vanilla, ballenced with a lite, tea like hop, that does not linger too long. This would stand up to the best of German Oktoberfest beers.

Thanks to Corey for this one. My first beer from Wooly Pig. I'm happy it's a festbier.
Nice clear, amber body with a two finger shock white head. Leaves some sticky lacing with a thin, broken ring around the glass.
A very pleasant aroma of toasted malts, green apple, grapes and spice from the hops.
Very delicate and balanced flavors. Toasted malts, honey sweetness, crisp red apple, green grapes and the hops are floral, peppery and tea like.
Extremely soft mouth feel with a nice dry finish. Peppery bite from the hops in the finish. Light-medium body with lighter carbonation.
A really nice marzen in the festbier style. I could drink tons of this.

A liter Masskrug at the brewery release

It is a very dark amber. More bronze-copper. A very slight unfiltered cloudiness. Huge frothy cream colored head with lots of lacing.

It smells like toasted bread crust, well water, a touch of baking like spice, and a hint of carmalized sugars that comes across like honey.

There is an initial light sweetness that is very natural, like honey, followed by a real nice amount of toasted bread, apple peel, and a Noble hop spice and earthiness. Just a little bit of flora/herbal hop flavor with some bittering.

Very drinkable with a slight creaminess that gives it a body on the fuller side, really nice dry finish.

This one pretty much hits on all Amber Fest/Marzen notes. It is not overly sweet and has a crisp dry finish. It could easily be compared to many German made versions, and is very similar to the Sierra Nevada/Weihenstephan collaboration, only not as sweet. Well done.
