Foggy pale straw yellow with a creamy but uneven thick blanket settling out to a collar that leaves all kinds of thick cobweb lacing on the glass.
First presenting with a little more funk than your standard modern gose, a certain character of water vegetation adds a welcome bit of complexity to what's otherwise become a ubiquitously bland style. This is then uplifted by a lightly tart touch of Sweet Tarts and a bit of biscuit before a colby exhale.
The moderate body has a soft froth and finishes semi-dry.
I enjoyed this more than the fruited version--a first in a long time.

On tap at the brewery
Mostly clear dull gold with a big, bright white soapy head that’s a bit fizzy. M
Smells sour against a strong grainy background.
Just a little bit of salinity up front and then the sourness quickly transitions into a strong wheat flavor and has a lingering grain taste. A bit of apple or pear like fruit too.
Body is fairly well carbonated but has a pretty soft feel.
If you are looking for a super sour, or overly fruited Gose (American style) this isn’t it. This is a subtle, traditional Leipzig version more like Sixpoint Jammer. And an excellent one.
