An unusual amber-colored German wheat beer whose full name is Bernsteinfarbenes Weizen. Hearty malt flavor underpins the banana and spice of the Weiß yeast. This beer's a mouthful!

Hazy acorn with a khaki head of moderate height retaining as a thick blanket delicately ridged at the edges. The appearance exudes autumn.
Herbal and earthy with a sort of leafy quality at first, the weizen yeast slowly creeps up in more subtle and semi-bitter ways, providing hints of toasted clove and rye. It's much less yeasty than a traditional hefe, while exhibiting hints of pumpernickel, as well as qualities that are somewhat seed or nut-like--maybe chestnut or acorn--helping to create another unique first experience here at the Pig.
Despite the insanely fluffy intro, this actually settles down to a slick medium-light body and finishes just semi-dry.
