Received a bottle of this as part of a Secret Santa exchange, brought back from Japan.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice clear honey hue with thin quarter inch head that fades very quickly to leave thin wisps and a light halo.
S - Aromas of sweet, sticky sweet honey, next to no hops whatsoever aside from flashes of light grassy notes. Fair amount of sweet spiced caramel. I get a weird vinegar note, minus the tartness, along with a slight wet cardboard aroma.
T - Taste is rather sweet candy malts, caramel, stale hops, almost salinity going on. Old grass clippings, more of an almost vinegar note, minus the tartness. As it warms it gets more doughy, which works nicely for the style. There is a very odd flavour as well. Slightly spoiled corn syrup maybe? Either way, it doesn't taste very good.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated and on the thin/watery side.
O - Overall, this was really a sweet mess. The appearance was solid but everything else was incredibly lackluster or just downright wrong. There are flashes of the style but for the most part it's a cloyingly sweet mess. Be that as it may, I am thrilled to have gotten to try something from this brewery.
