Glossy black with a tall dark tan foam head of large bubbles condensing to a thick blanket and short fluid ridge that retains well.
Wow, smell is delectable, like chocolate wafers drizzled by mocha syrup with light hints of peanut and a miniscule prick of whiskey heat.
The medium body is widened by a fluffy carbonation that delivers dark chocolate accented by a touch of toasted oak that amplifies the roasted peanut characteristics. The tingly semi-dry finish conjures a numbing warmth after the swallow.
Exceedingly better than any saison or "dad beer" I had on draft at the Foederhouse.

500 ml bottle
Pours opaque, viscous black. Dark tan ring of a head.
Aroma of coffee, molasses, cocoa, lactose, pecan, walnut, oak, smoked meats, toast, tobacco and mesquite.
Flavor is of cocoa, coffee, oak, bourbon, caramel, fig, pecan, cinnamon, honey, cream and vanilla.
Body is velvety thick and smooth, but with a bite of carbonation and an alcohol sting. Significant warmth going down.
A decadent, slow sipping stout. The aroma doesn't quite mesh for me at first, but all is good in the taste and the body leaves it lingering for a while after each sip. Overall it's a nice experience, good stout to ruminate over with a balance of flavors that tends to the sweet side without going to far into cloying. Would have again.
