December 31 2024, tall can received as a gift.
Look: Dark as night. Very small tan head that dissipates quickly. Looks like a porter should look.
Smell: Mocha, chocolate, coffee.
Taste: Follows the nose. Dark roasted coffee, cola without the sweetness, bitter chocolate and coffee. Slightly more on the bitter side of porters, and a touch less intense than the better versions, but it's solid for the style. The bitterness and sourness lingers nicely.
Feel: Carbonated, perhaps a touch too much. Medium to full body.
Overall: This is a solid porter! As I said above, slightly on the bitter side, but it's got good flavor and is easy to drink. Nicely done.

From tall can purchased from The Washington Beer Store. (PA)
Roasty and toasty on this lovely Fall day! Truly a classic porter.
Aroma - iron and roasted coffee, slight sourness and dank.
Taste - roasted coffee, slight toasted walnut and pecan, a little sourness and bitterness left on the palette at the end.
Feel - great mouthfeel, light, not cloying, slightly astringent, lingering
