HAHPS is the boldest statement we've made in a long time with a single beer. HAHPS is a new, core, year-round WEST COAST IPA. You read that right, people. We're chips-down on clear, hoppy beer. Welcome this bright, pungent westie to the fold. Let the hand-selected Yakima Valley Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic waves wash over you. The yin to Squish's yang. In the spirit of another of this week's releases, Dickey Betts's western swing to Duane's buzzsaw slide. On batch one, we're pulling mango lassi, candied tangelo, drippy pineapple, and Meyer lemon zest. Please let us introduce you. Get acquainted. Experience duality. Sense the lupulin phases. DRINK HAHPS.

HAHPS - from Cinderlands. 16 fl oz can purchased from Franklin Beer Co, Franklin, PA, 30/05/24, $ 4.50 (Including tax), $ 0.282/fl oz. Reviewed 17/06/24 (Review 3301). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom rim of can stamped “YINZER 7% ?/?/23”. Stored in reefer at the distributor, 34 degrees at home. Served at 43.8 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 51.6 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), clear. Note: unpasteurized and unfiltered.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, hazy.
Head – Average (Maximum 4.3 cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density, good retention, leaving a 1.0 - 1.7 cm jagged crown and rocky complete cap.
Lacing – Excellent! Wide three-dimensional band of near-microscopic to tiny bubbles forming plateaus and escarpments, connected by mostly short, narrow columns to the crown.
Aroma – 3.75 – Begins with strong generic, slightly moldy, citrus which quickly fades. No yeast, no malt, no alcohol (7 % ABV, according to the can).
Flavor – 3.5 – Weak generic citrus, a bit grapefruity and dank. No yeast, no malt, no alcohol. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. No gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium; almost creamy; soft but lively carbonation.
Final Impression and summation: 4 For being >6 months old, still a tasty IPA (Simcoe holds a long time, Citra and Mosaic, not so much). I’d definitely buy a fresher one if I ran across one.
