From the tall boy can in a snifter via Bluejacket74---DUDE....this one ROCKS!
This excellent brew pours a rich coal black with a nice head of brown foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and sports some nice light lacing. Nose of
coffee, toffee, char, dark roasted malts, and dark fruit elements of black and
blueberry, and dark chocolate. Flavors nail it with sweet dark chocolate
swimming amidst layers of char and brulee. Dark coffee and dark
fruit abound with touches of brewers licorice (like Kalamazoo stout)
and a hint of cream. Excellent mouth feel; full body, smooth, coating,
rich, warming, light carbonation, and a char / roast laden finish
that is lightly dry and finishing with a bitter malt note.
Overall, an excellent brew!
Cheers

16 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed. Purchased at the brewery last weekend. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and some dark fruit. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also the addition of some anise, caramel and burnt/charred flavors too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's somewhat slick and creamy with a good amount of carbonation. Smooth and easy enough to drink. Overall I thought this was a pretty good straight forward imperial stout, definitely worth picking up if you come across some!
