draft pour into a snifter. lighter black with an extremely thin sandy brown foam cap. fairly prominent barrel sting on the nose as well as cherries and vanilla with some oak and faint chocolate as well. it’s a little muddled in the nose but the taste presents a slightly more balanced flavor combination of wet oak, bourbon, vanilla, cherry, barrel char and tobacco. it has a very full and slick / smooth mouthfeel and drinks nowhere near its 16% ABV. interesting concoction and while i don’t particularly care for fruit in stouts this works. extra generous points for drinkability and more surprisingly, mouthfeel.
