A - Dark brown body, opaque, with just a hint of red in the highlights. Tan head quickly fading to a few scattered bubbles, and just a hint of lacing.
S - The vanilla and coffee are forward, with roasted malt beneath. Smells pretty good.
T - Taste turns mildly vegetal in the open, but the vanilla and spice come forward quickly, and chocolate and malty bread notes through the middle. The finish has a bit of acidic astringency and a touch of bitterness to close things out.
M - Moderate weight, light acidity and a bit of scrubbing dryness in the finish. Unfortunately, remains a bit sticky, making it hard to tip back beyond the occasional special occasion.
O - I am a sucker for the pieces here, but the whole, while decent, is a bit taxing. It is probably rightfully a Christmas special, and in that it does well.
