Brined Faith, our collab blend with Maplewood Brewing Co. Oak-aged saison with cucumbers and pink Himalayan salt, conditioned with Maplewood’s house mixed culture. A beer we’ve been looking forward to for a long time—easily one of our favorite flavor combos to date. A ton of fresh cucumber on the nose and flavor, with subtle notes of geranium and calming seaside breezes. Super refreshing, funk forward, with balanced acidity and salinity.⠀

Bright gold with ample foam, arcs of lace around the glass, patchy skim.
Refreshing cucumber aroma, green and earthy, lots of freshness. Tart and crisp, moderate acidity, effervescent and light feeling. Medium bodied, lots of cucumber flavor with some salinity from the salt. Tart lemon and trace oak in the background. Not acetic in any way, the acidity is crisp and lactic. The mind and palate want to make a pickle association, but it is very fleeting.
Overall this is a successful collaboration, using Maplewood’s mixed culture to sour it in the barrels. It’s a refreshing, summery drink. Cucumbers in beer/cocktails and sour saisons are two of my fav things, so this is a rare mix of those things all in one.
