Visiting the area on spring break for a few days. Hung around downtown Springfield a bit and found this place on a corner next to a Korean place a few blocks from the Lincoln compound.
Cozy, with a big bar and about a half a dozen tables. Deserted on a late Wednesday afternoon, but the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Fourteen selections, but only six from the brewer and three ciders, which I really don't rate. The IPA was pretty awesome and I was regular offered samples from anything I showed interest in. I also ordered the pilsner.
This is a chill local place that is probably pretty cool on the weekend, with quirky decor and good brews. Would recommend.

Located in historic downtown Springfield, IL. a skinny long storefront with brick wall and an upstairs too. Nice selection of beers on tap, friendly staff.

New downtown brewery, conveniently located near a few other quality beer spots like Craft, Floyd’s, Hair of the Dog, and Tacology 101.
Hip modern interior, an interesting network of piping and assorted Edison bulbs on the brick wall opposite the bar. Lighted brewery sign and digital beer list behind the serving area. The space is fairly narrow, if you’re standing at the bar there’s barely clearance for someone else to get by. Communal table up front, bar to the left and small tables along the wall to the back, where windows to the brewery are visible. Second bar upstairs according to other review, but it wasn’t very clear on-site, signage would help.
Service was quick and friendly. Good mix of locals and a few beer travelers.
Beer selection was ok, pretty typical brewpub styles. Hefe, IPA, APA, cream ale, brown ale, red ale, Scottish ale. The Berliner weisse had an atypical sour green apple flavor (acetaldehyde?). The APA wasn’t very hoppy and sort of watery. IPA and Scottish ale were alright. Average quality, hopefully they rotate some more unique styles in the future.
Overall this is a nice addition to the downtown Springfield beer scene. Don’t miss the brisket tacos at Tacology around the corner. Hand of Fate in Petersburg is my go-to in the area, and Anvil & Forge is opening nearby in the near future.
2020: Be sure to check out newcomers Anvil & Forge, and Terra Ferment nearby. Tacology 101 for tacos, it's a win-win.

New brewery in downtown Springfield and it's been packed every night they've been open. There are two floors with bars on each floor and each has it's own vibe. Downstairs is your normal taproom with a bar and a few small tables. Upstairs has books, games, and German style tables along with another bar. The quality is very good for Central Illinois and the service at both bars was great. I was also happy with the selection as they have their core beers and have been switching out small batches each week which is a nice treat.
