Brown color, quite dark, with a decent beige head.
Strange smell: grainy, some green hop. Undergrowth. Metallic notes. After a while, it become a bit better, with some plum, and a light caramel.
In the taste light caramel, and again a good amount of metallic taste, tha t after a while fades away.
Nothing remarkable, anyway. Mediocre dunkel.
Caramel in the aftertaste, with plum. In the end some liquorice.

Poured a clear dark drown base, medium head, good retention and a speak of lace. Not much going on in this department, a touch of malt smell.

Fairly one dimensional, tastes very weak like they hold back on ingredients, really light aftertaste for a dunkel but high in carbonation. It is a touch smooth from the head, but when the beer goes down the top of your throat feels off, happened every time, it isn't a good sign for a beer. Well, given the fact that I kept giving this beer a second chance, after about the 8th gulp or half the beer I poured the rest, not drinakble due to the aftertaste, but I have some beer standards.

Final Thought: They make a good 400th year anniversary beer for 2005, but this beer is a waste of malts.
