Pours a crystal clear golden coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smells of doughy malt and floral, grassy hops. Taste is an okay balance of doughy, slightly caramelly malt and floral, grassy hops, as well as a certain green apple note that is actually rather unpleasant here. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some caramel malt, grassy hops and green apples lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light body and medium coloration.
I've heard people say that Oettinger beers are actually a lot better than their reputation because they put all their money into the beer rather than marketing, but based solely on this brew, which is undoubtedly the worst oktoberfestbier I've ever had, I'm finding this hard to believe. While the beer seems rather thin, with a watery texture, neither the malts nor hops leave a satisfying impression here, with the malts feeling a bit too sweet and and the hops rather floral, almost soapy, although with a decent bitterness at least. The worst thing about this is that certain aftertaste though, which is somewhere inbetween green apples and band-aids making me think that either acetaldehyde or phenols are probably involved here. While these are really not that distinct and this is still kinda drinkable, it's certainly far from plesant though.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
