Copenhagen 28/4 2019. 50 cl plastic bottle with a screw cap from Penny Markt, Grosse Burgstrasse, Lübeck. Generic beer label design with a shield, corn ears, no less than 5 stars and the tag line "Vollmundig und mild im geschmack".
Pours clear golden yellow with a small white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer.
Aroma is moderately intense. Sweet malts, light caramel, bread. Very light sour notes rummaging in the background. Strong carbonation.
Thin, watery, lively, fizzy texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a medium strong, rough bitterness. Aftertaste is lightly bitter. Lingers shortly.
Not fantastic by any means - but not horrible either. They ought to reconsider the plastic bottle.

Pours a clear, deep amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of bready, grainy malt and herbal hops. Taste is a good balance of bready, grainy malt and herbal, slightly spicy hops. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some grainy malt and herbal, spicy hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a pretty decent Dortmunder and certainly is great value for money at the rather cheap price point. The focus is clearly on the bready, grainy, slightly sweet malts, with the hops feeling a bit restrained, but still offering some herbal and spicy accents. Perhaps not the greatest example of the style, but perfectly drinkable and enjoyable enough, especially at the price point.
