16 oz can from brewery. Near black pour, flat. Aroma is bit sweet, roasty, a bit boozy. Taste brings more sweetness, biting edge, not as boozy as the aroma.

16 oz can traded in from Hinda65. Lovely royal blue color scheme. Poured into mini snifter.
Deep, thick, dark black color pours and walla! - a head! Not always common on these BA stouts, but a welcome sight. 1 finger of khaki-to-beige, receding to a 1/2 finger.
Aromas are yummy. Chocolate syrup, molasses, caramel, coffee beans, and dark toast. Very light floral hop. Not much on barrel or bourbon but the general sweetness is there.
A formidable yet inviting spicy hop bitterness opens this show with a lovely counter balance of thick, roasted, chocolate-y malts. Dark toast, earthy/grassy hop pellet, milk chocolate, smoke, coffee, molasses, and faint hints of tobacco and ash make up the flavor descriptors. The taste fades on spicy floral hops and lingering acidic bitterness.
Feel is creamy and thick, very smooth, and intensely acidic. It attacks the tongue like a thousand angry bees. Incredible drying finish, like a shop vac on spilled milk. Thwoop. Just sucks all the moisture from your mouth. Moderate alcohol heat. Would guess this was 10 or 11% from feel and flavor, which means this beer hides about 20% of its alcohol very well.
Overall, an outstanding imperial stout. Whether the barrel is really there to supplement the flavor or if its just not loud enough, I'm not sure, but I would say this is more in line with a sweeter BA Ten FIDY and that's perfectly fine by me. Impeccable balance, just an amazing feat. Note that this can is about a year old, so keep that in mind with this review.

Picked up this great beer from the brewery. Kiitos continues to impress with their big beer selection. Served this beast of an imperial stout into a snifter.
Appearance: Jet black
Aroma: Deep rich maltiness with some sweet chocolate notes. Candied sugar aromas, similar to a Belgian Tripel. Low to medium bourbon notes.
Taste: Deep rich and dark maltiness complemented by
medium/strong bourbon barrel notes. You can taste the alcohol, but I definitely would not have guessed 12.3%. Drinks like an 8-9% beer.
Mouthfeel: Thick and slightly syrupy.
Overall: Great beer. Kiitos continues to surprise.
