This pale ale was brewed in collaboration with bartender and aspiring brewer Christopher Swensen.
Chris has lived and breathed Utah's fresh high desert air his entire life, so he wanted to create a beer that captures the essence of the backyard mountain playground of his childhood. Inspired by Hobble Creek Canyon in the Southern Wasatch range, this golden pale ale is brewed with sage and juniper-a heartfelt ode to our mountain home

Canned... Recently, no date but they're normally spot on with it. Perhaps rubbed off.
Purchased from the brewery cooler for $1.80
Poured at fridge temp into a imp nonic glass
Pours very cloudy nearly fully opaque sienna with a 1F eggshell colored head. 3.75
Nose is spot on and exactly, 100% as advertised. It smells like countless days I've spent in the backwoods and reminds me of home/childhood.
Strong sage and juniper are balanced with a hint of earthy elderflower. 4.75
Bitter and earthy hops, sage and juniper again, but both feel very fresh. Pleasant lingering aftertaste. 4.25
Body is lightly carbonated, has a slick but not oily mouthcoating to it. Somewhere between drinkable and a sipper due to the intense flavor essences. 4
Overall this may not be a style all would enjoy, but damn does it do itself incredibly well. The strong sage and juniper certainly aren't for the faint of heart, but the reward/experience was well worth it. Will absolutely buy again. 4.25
