awesome take on pumpkin ale, and an early favorite of actual pumpkin beer season for me, golden ale as a base rather than a darker and richer and maltier beer seems like a cool idea, and leaning into coffee to compliment the pumpkin instead of a super heavy handed spice complex is also a a nice choice, this drinks easy and quite a lot different from the field, these guys are really kicking some butt lately! pretty good clarity on this from the pint can, average white head but its cool to see just how blonde this is, definitely uncommon for pumpkin beer, coffee beer too of course! the nose is great, and there might be some light fall spice to this, but i get sweet fleshy pumpkin puree character for sure, and a nice fruity coffee complexion, definitely not over roasted which is cool in such a pale base beer, which may carry some sweetness of its own, a light honey note to me from the grain, faint vanilla and maybe warming spiciness at the end but its subtle. the coffee hints at raisin and hazelnut, very nice, autumnal in a new way. the flavor follows, and its less sweet overall than it smells, even in the center, subtle graham cracker to it. the coffee and the pumpkin are incredibly compatible, and i like them working together in this beer than i have ever liked them in a starbucks drink, not even close. the coffee has basically no bitterness and no acid, seems high end, and is so beautifully incorporated, dry cocoa and hazelnut essence to it. the pumpkin is natural and earthy, and this is a real drinkable take on a style i usually cant make a night of. lighter in body, well carbonated and very well refined. killer combination of flavors, innovative and executed really well, this is great!
