Oostende 18/7 2023. 33 cl bottle from Spar, Langestraat, Oostende. Cream label with a dark turquoise circle with the name of the beer and a sketchy drawing of three houses.
Pours clear dark maroon with a small off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet malty and sugary odor mingling with a bit of alcohol. Toffee, caramel and sweet biscuit. Warming dark alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture. A little sticky.
Flavor is medium strong with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet caramel. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry with a sweet touch.
Decent and not too boozy Dubbel.
