From the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This solid sweet stout
brewed with prickly pear and mesquite honey pours a nice and dark
blackish brown with a nice head of dissipating foam that subsides to
a thin ring and ever subtle pool that leaves no lacing. Nose of deep
roasted goodness, subtle char, hints of dark fruit, dark chocolate, and
earthy malts mingling with coffee. Flavors follow the nose with semi
sweet bakers chocolate and roasted coffee notes with subtle fruit notes
that are lightly akin to a melon but hard to put ones finger on. Char and
roast takes the center stage with moderate sweetness coming through
and balanced with earthy malts. Excellent mouth feel; medium full body,
light carbonation, and a coating rich chocolate and coffee tinged flavor.
Overall a SOLID brew from a new to me brewery.
Cheers
