From the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This mighty fine brew
pours a nice medium dark mahogany with a nice head of off white
foam that subsides to a thick ring, and a light thin wispy layer with
spotty lacing. Nose of subtle cocoa, light notes of dark fruits, brown
sugar and caramel malts, and a touch of herbal hops. Flavors follow
the nose and present a well balanced English style ale with brown sugars
and light toffee notes mingling nicely with cherry and light dates that
are balanced with light warming booze and mild herbal hops.
Nice mouth feel; medium body, smooth, medium light carbonation,
and a rich malt accentuated finish.
Overall, a SOLID brew that I need to take some folks from across the
pond to as well as a few folks from up Columbus way!
Cheers!
