From the growler via the brewery and brought to me by the Little
Lady---cool! This fine ale pours into a snifter with a dark and murky
amber tinged brown color with a nice head of dissipating foam that
subsides to a thick ring, thin light film, and shows some nice lacing.
Nose of light brown sugars, dates, subtle golden raisin, and light
herbal notes. Flavors surpass the nose with brown sugar and
dates with a moderate dark bread note with cherry and raisin
dancing with a light dark wine flavor with a touch of Belgian spice.
Nice mouth feel; medium body, smooth, medium light carbonation
that is just about right for the style, and a lightly dry and moderately
sweet finish.
A solid brew from a pretty darn good brewery that I need to keep a closer
eye on. Very good.
Cheers
