A 12-oz pour served on tap at the brewery.
Look: Reddish brown, with a half inch off-white head, that had OK retention, ending in a foam ring with an island, and abundant finely bubbled lacing.
Nose: Nice. Roasted nuts that seem a little stronger than hazelnuts, also a hint of freshly cut grass, as well as a slight hint of floral, all with the roasted malt underneath.
Taste: The attack starts very plainly, with some light malt, and then the roasted nut flavor comes through as the beer warms in the mouth, and it sweetens a bit. Finishes with a slight hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium, with just barely enough carbonation.
Overall: Very drinkable. The flavor starts out slowly, but then develops. This won't go down as my favorite brown ale ever, but I would be happy to drink it again.
