The Hop & Barrel brew monks have enlightened us with a divinely dark lager. Crisp, but malty and lightly toasted, with just a hint of grain. Driven by chocolate notes, Saint Black is a transcendent beer for when the days are short and nights too long. Rise above!

12oz can, purchased at Casanova Liquors in Hudson WI. No dating information on the can, but the website says this is a Jan/Feb release.
Ruby brown colored body. One finger of light tan head. Leaves behind a ring and spots of lacing.
Aroma of chocolate malts, with a sense of floral hops.
Taste is slightly sweet, with prominent chocolate malts. Floral and fruity hops. Malts persist into the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel, with some creaminess and smoothness. Very good carbonation.
Certainly sessionable, with a straightforward chocolate malt reward.
