Hefeweizen brims with a refreshing sparkle and spicy notes of banana and cloves. Lots of wheat and a special yeast left in the finished beer create flavors and a mouthfeel as smooth as puffy clouds in Bavaria's famed blue-and-white skies. Only brewers appointed by the King were allowed to make it. And 500 years later—iYs still what summer tastes like in Germany.

Sampling a lightly chilled 16 oz can poured into my weisse glass. No date stamp on the label or can. The beer pours a clear to slightly foggy straw gold color. A bit of sediment drops into the glass at the end of my pour. Several active streams of carbonation rise to the surface.
A bleached white head of about 1cm foams up about 1 cm on the pour. This foam doesnt stick around very long though, and I dont get any lacing or lattice from the beer swirls or sips. Wish there was a little more head retention.
Aroma is a little bit of biscuit malt and then some lemon and a big hit of cloves. No hop character and not boozy either.
First sip reveals a light body with smooth texture and very fine and tingly carbonation. This beer drinks really easy. There is a little drying out on the finish too.
Flavor is similar to the nose with some biscuit malt and a bit of a scone flavor, this yields to some light lemon notes and cloves roll through the finish, but much more mild than on the nose. Never any hop presence here either and ABV is rightfully hidden.
This is a nice hefeweizen that I am enjoying this evening. Glad to have sampled this one.

It’s an ok one. Certain things on my mind… No, not Mrs. Raul while she’s steaming. Even more, not Raul while he’s dreaming. It’s something in-between. Maybe like a schoolmistress when she isn’t being mean.
Ahoy, my children.

Nearly clear amber brew with adequate foam in the Bellegems wine-style glass. Big aroma of spice. I am not sensing the bananas, though. Dark and bitterish flavors with serious nutmeg and something not entirely unlike clove. Hint of butter and nuts. This is really strong with the yeast and estery flavors. Too much of a good thiing. It's so spicy, though, for those who seek a wintery warmer just add a dose of Anchor Christmas Ale. From the 16 oz can purchased at the big box store.
