16oz can (canned 9/10/2020) into a tulip. Big thanks to @distantmantra for bringing this one over this afternoon! Pours a cloudy, hazy, NEIPA dirty yellow w/ a 1-finger white head.
Aroma is quite unique. I'm getting some Belgian yeast, which surprises me. Citrus, but it's not the standard grapefruit and orange. Maybe lime? There's a vague tartness to it. I know nothing about this beer or brewery (their website is the definition of minimal) but it's intriguing and different.
Taste is likewise ... unique. I'm not getting as much of the Belgian yeast esters that I detected in the aroma, but there's kind of a candy-like sweetness going on here that balances out the fresh hop acidity. Smarties? Clean and bright, crisp and refreshing. (Follow-up note: I just checked the bottom of the can for the date and it says "RIP Lime Skittles," so that might be a clue.)
Mouthfeel is balanced, medium bodied, about what one would expect from a 6% NEIPA.
Overall a very good beer that I'm glad I was able to try.
