forgive my ignorance, but i didnt know these guys made beer like this, clean beer, not that this one is clean, but i thought it was all saisons and wild blends and stuff, apparently not! this is over the top no matter how you slice it, and even if its on trend, its a small doses thing right away for me, dry hopped to oblivion at the expense of much nuance, and is green and sort of vegetal all through it, even though it doesnt even present as super fresh to me. i am being critical i know, but these guys have a sterling reputation and i expected to like this a lot more than i did, although the boldness is also cool in the sense that there are incognito and lupomax products in this, so the saturation point is way high, this definitely pushes the boundaries of how hoppy a beer can be, and its not all that harsh, its just not all that drinkable either, at least for me. super milky and thick, cool to find it on tap, but it looks messy even with some head on it. i do like the hop combination even though im not a huge azacca guy, they go together well, and the limey winey galaxy pops the most to me in aroma and flavor. green melon and rind, bitter lemon, white pine boards in the lumber aisle, and a little dank weedy thing, its all over my palate. its a little yeasty, bitter as well as juicy, and very full bodied, starchy, wheaty, oaty, raw even to some extent perhaps, off dry. i wanted this a little cleaner and more refined, thats my biggest knock against it, but its also over hopped by any standard. cool to be aggressive, this drinks like an imperial, unique but not my favorite and nowhere near as good as the wild beers ive had from mirage so far...
