A strawberry and soursop Berliner Weisse from Akademia, picked up from the brewery in a 4 pack of tall boys. As you might expect, strawberry and soursop together will be mighty sweet, and a sour of some type is about all that work with them. This works- just barely. The Berliner Weisse itself is tart, but not quite tart enough to balance the sweet fruit. For my palate, I still like the Berliner to have some zing to it, which this does not. Those looking for a sweeter beer might really enjoy it, though, as the fruit flavors are clean and pure with a savory tartness from the Berliner in the background. Interesting.
