Appearance: Very slightly hazy gold. White fluffy head with moderate retention
Aroma: Oak wood, bourbon, alcohol hidden. Slight floral aroma.
Flavor & aftertaste: Oak wood & bourbon like. Mild bitterness
Mouth-feel: Medium bodied, dry. Very crisp and clean start to finish. Moderate length finish.
Overall: This is a terrific barrel aged variant. The pilsner/lager beer allows the barrel characteristics to shine. Reminds me of a crisp, clean, drier version of Allagash Curieux. I especially like the lower ABV vs other BBA beers. You can enjoy several of these without getting hammered! Great effort from Akademia.
