A clear, dark copper beer with a thin head.
The smell is light and malty with some melanoidines. The beer has notes of dark bread crust. There is not much smell to the beer. The mentioned Centennial, Chinook, Saaz en Amarillo add a little spiciness and bold hoppiness.
The beer is a full bodied beer with a dark, bready maltiness . The hops do not add the American barleywine experience. The expected bold and citric hoppiness of the hops does not shine through. There is very little to no yeast character to the beer. The alcohol is nicely hidden, but I assumed that a 13% beer would have had more taste to it.
