33cl bottle, poured in a pilsner glass
Pours a foamy off-white that dissipates quickly into a thin foamy layer. Looks unappealing hazy amber.
Smell from bottle resembles Czech pilsner, smell from glass changes to a very spicy sweet.
Taste is lackluster at best, at first sip the beer tasted of spicy rot and a slight bitter aftertaste, quite unpleasant. I know for a fact the beer hasn't gone off, by the way, as it was brewed earlier this week. As you get used to the taste halfway through it improves somewhat with the taste of rot less present and turning into a watery, spicy sweet.
Supposedly, according to the Numansdorp Reformed Church, which is at the head of the brewing process, this is the way Martin Luther the medieval European reformer used to enjoy his beers. And was brewed after historical records.
Thankfully the only batch was limited to 1392, 1,98 euros a bottle.
