Reviewed from a 0.33l bottle (€5.50) while imbibing at Arendsnest in Amsterdam on 26SEP16. Best by of MAY17.

My glass held a clear, medium golden brew, with a 1/4" fluffy, white head and decent lacing. Nose was a bit mild but did have some bready notes with some spice and tropical fruit. Medium body; no probs there.

Was lightly crackery with some biscuity malt sweetness to start. Mildly fruity (think pear and green apple), there was also some coriander and a subtle, peppery, yeasty finish. Not bad....

Maybe this is a re-issue of the beer. This beer pours a clear, orange golden color with a persistant head.

The smell is sweet and malty with notes of honey. The yeast adds a clove and banana taste, with a hint of juniper.

The taste is along the lines of the smell, with a strong clove presence. The sweet malt is giving some honey and apricot taste. The beer has a taste that reminds of a strong weizen. I heard the yeast is the Chimay yeast and come to think of it, it has the same character as the Chimay white, but a bit sweeter.

Mine had a slightly skunky aroma. It looks like a lot of tripels, a peachy gold translucent color and some nicely sparkling carbonation with an average head. The flavor is very mild overall, with just enough coriander for such a bland ale. Some alcohol was detectable in the aftertaste. Not a complete bomb, but possibly the most boring tripel I’ve had.
