A clear, orange colored beer with a head that disappears as it is poured. No head at all. Maybe it is my glass and greasball mouth, not sure.
Smell is smokey for sure. Not the slap in the face like the German smoked beers, but a fresh woody light bandaid, light rubber and even some piny notes. The smoke is not strong, yet it overpowers any other smell. Maybe there is some malty note, but very much subdued.
Taste is lightly smoky, with the obvious smoke, bandaid, rubber and woody notes. The taste is lighter than the smell would make me expect. The beer has a smoky layer, which is incorporated in the beer and gives the beer an interesting taste. Once the beer is a couple of sips further, the smoke has grown on my tongue and what remains is an interesting beer that has a very well hidden alcohol and low bitterness. The drinkability is great.
